READY! SET! GO!
Do you like to play games with your friends? I bet you do! Hide and Seek is a fun one where one person closes her eyes and counts to ten while everyone hides! Then the great announcement, “Ready or not, here I come!”. In Genesis 3:9 God is trying to find Adam in the Garden and he says “Adam, where are you?”. Just like in Hide and Seek, Adam is hiding not for fun but because of sin.
God is trying to find each of us because all of us have been lost. This is missions and it is God’s heart. He calls you by your name and asks where you are in hopes that you will ask Him to come into your heart and be your Savior. All around the world God is asking “insert any name, where are you?” That is where you come in. We get to be a part of this great big soul saving miracle! Someone needs to go! Someone needs to tell the lost how to get found! In the book of Romans 10:14 it is explained this way, “How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?”. This is action. This is you. The Lord tells us in Mark 16:15 to “go into all the world and preach the Gospel to all creation”. That is everyone and that is what you are to do. But how? Can you jump on a plane to another continent? Can you drive across the country right now? If only we could be that lucky! How fun!
So, what can you do to “Go” and “Preach”? If we once again go to the Bible for answers, we find this really cool verse in 1 Corinthians 10:31, that tells us “to do all things for God’s Glory”. That means if we are playing a game with friends, ask them about Jesus. If we help someone with schoolwork, ask them about Jesus. Pray and ask God for opportunities to talk about Jesus with someone. “To go” does not always mean to travel to another part of the world and share the Gospel. It means to share the Gospel with those that are right in your path every day. “To go” means to share your faith. “To go” means to share your heart. “To go” means to share your money or collect for missions so others can go until you can. “To go” means to bless someone else showing the heart of God. God is asking everyone “where are you?” So, are you willing “to go”?
How about another game that is fun to play? This game is about a race. So, are you ready to run this race for Jesus? “Ready!” “Set!” “Go!”
Happy Missioning!!
