Let us be a doer….

So I have this small pink Bible. It is always with me. When I was about 20 a saw a lady with one and had to have it. It dawned on me about a month ago. I never use it. I call it my “emergency Bible” because it’s there if I need it, but I never did.

If you looked at, you would think otherwise. It’s been through about 20 years of purses, backpacks and just tossed all over. It has two magnets that hold it shut. But they were barely hanging on.

So a month ago, when I realized I never used it, I started opening it up daily. Reading scripture on lunch break. Referencing it during a devotional while I wait in that long line to pick the kid up after school.

Two Sundays ago, I opened it during Sunday service. One of the magnets flew off. I thought to myself I’ll look for it after service. So after service for about 20 minutes, mom and I searched for that magnet. We never found it.

Last Sunday as we were doing closing prayer, mom and I both thought about the magnet. Since it was simultaneous, I knew God was telling me to look for it because I would find it.

Tens minutes go by and no magnet. Here comes the kid from kids church. She sees us with our flashlights looking.

She says, “are you still looking for that magnet? You should stop. The magnet is bad because it’s locking up the word of God and aren’t we supposed to be sharing it!”

🤯😮🤯😮🤯😮

Guess I wasn’t going find the magnet. I was gonna discover the real purpose of that Bible that’s been locked up in my bag.

Let’s not be empty servants. Let’s make sure we don’t keep that word locked up any more 💛🖤
